About Me

My photo
Joan McKenna
San Diego, California, United States

I teach a program entitled: Sewn Product Business. This encompasses Patternmaking, Sewing, and Computerized Machine Embroidery. Anything you can do to earn money with your skills.

Currently I’m teaching for the San Diego Community College District: Continuing Education for over 10 years.

I teach with Holistic Constructivist Methods. This method of teaching is not as old as the Behavorist Method which states: "I have all the answers. My job is to impart this knowledge to you. (B.F. skinner.)

The Holistic Constructivist Method of Teaching is very bottom up. (Paul Freire, Peter McClearon, Henry Giroux, Michael Apple, Ira Shaw.) I embrace the skills and knowledge you bring to my classes. I empower you to teach your fellow students and me. We are all ready to learn anything that will help us reach our personal goals.

Come to class you will learn a lot !!!
